SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO ATTRACTIONS
San
Miguel Mission
This mission is the oldest in the US and built in 1610. The church
has massive adobe walls, very high windows, an elegant altar screen
(erected in 1798). It also has a 780-pound San José bell
cast in Spain in 1356.Buffalo hide and deerskin Bible paintings
used in 1630 by Franciscan missionaries to teach the Native Americans
are part of the historic legacy of the San Miguel Mission. Anthropologists
have excavated near the altar, down to the original floor that some
claim to be part of a 12th-century pueblo.
The
Santa Fe Farmers Market
Located in Railyard Park, Corner of Cerrillos and Guadalupe. 100%
of the vegetables, fruits, and nursery plants available at Santa
Fe Farmers Markets are grown in northern New Mexico. The same goes
for at least 80% of the ingredients and materials used to make all
processed and craft items.
Loretto Chappel
The Loretto Chappel is the home of "Miraculous Staircase".
Legend says on the ninth and final day of prayer, a man showed up
at the Chapel with a donkey and a toolbox looking for work. Months
later the elegant circular staircase was completed and the carpenter
disappeared without pay or thanks. The design was innovative for
the time and some of the design considerations still perplex experts
today. The staircase has two 360 degree turns and has no visible
means of support.

Fe Botanical Garden

a variety of regularly scheduled tours and special events.
